Self love can be the most important thing for a human for their mental will being. Self love begins with the total acceptance of one's appearance,who are you,what you like. It means accepting your own lead and not sacrificing your well-being to please other exceptions. It is totally about believing that you deserve and not settings for less than you deserve. Self love will help you to level up your self esteem and confidence. Loving yourself doesn't mean you think your the smartest,most talented person on earth but it is accepted your flaws and embarrassing it to level up the confidence.

In this world there will be people who might not like your style, your walk the studies you choose to do your body...etc.So this can lower your self- esteem trying to fit in these toxic social beauty standards and stuff but when you believe in yourself,love you know you are and what you like you can draw a line and you won't be bothered about what other people think. With self love you will be able to walk confidently in a room with 1000 of people regardless of your body type because the moment you start valuing and loving yourself those people opinion won't matter.

Along the Journey

Life is a beautiful journey about creating, making and doing things that make you happy.In life,we get opportunities to learn and grow in many ways to experience things and to gain lesson through experience.Every minute in our early stage of life is about the struggle to find happiness and earn money but I had say it is the process of discovering ourselves, doing what we love, going to ups and downs, being sad, depressed and happy and satisfied. Commonly life is a scientific process of constantly changing until a body grow up to the point where can't function anymore. As humans we must always find a way to become happy, even in the hardest point of life, because life is too short to be depressed over anything when we have a choice and strength to focus our mind on finding a reason to be happy. Make the world a better place spread positivity,kindness share your love. Be thankful for what you have received an live your life to the fullest.

Innocent Creatures

Man's relationship with animals goes to early age.Man's friendship with animals is well-established. Darwing believed that man has evolved from monkeys. Then animals are our ancestors. The friendship between man and animal is more reliable and lasting.Man's friendship with man may not last long.But it is of permanent nature with the domesticate and pet animals.Animals and birds are never ungrateful.Once friends,they are always friends.They will never turn hostile.They do not know betrayal,deceit or foul play. Cats, dogs, elephants, cows, goats, hens and  ducks are our  friends. Cats are kept as pets. Dogs are kept as pets for protection and safety. They are very faithful and loyal. They also help in dedicating and tracking thieves,explosives narcotic drugs and criminals.Elephants are strong and hardworking.They can be used to carry and drag heavy loads.Cows and goats give us milk.Hens give us eggs which are very nutritious.Birds please our ears with beautiful songs.

Duty of a Student

Every citizen has some responsibilities for the country,the village, the school as same as the family. Students also have a lot of responsibilities for the country. In other words our parents,teachers and the society expect many things from us. It is our duty to fulfill all the aspirations of them. If we fail to make their dreams true, we become irresponsible students. Therefore it is the responsibility for every students to perform his or her task well.

         The first and foremost responsibility is learning and behaving well. We must obedient to parents,teachers and elders. The government spend large amount money for the children's education for grade 1 to University. If students are enable to achieve successful results the effects of the government become fruitless. And the same time parents are frustrated when children do not achieve their goals.Hence it is the responsibility of every child to do their studies properly.

Try to Use Public Properties Properly

Public property is all team that are common for the uses of everyone. Bus stations,railway stations, government properties, public schools and the post offices are public property.Public property is very important for every one because we can do some public property without paying  any money. And we can use some public property with paying a little money. Public property does not benefit for one man. It is useful for everyone.Therefore,there are so many importance of protect public property.

The Guiding Light

A teacher works in a school.But some teachers work properly only in tution classes. A teacher works 7.30 a.m to 1.30 p.m.Sometimes they conduct after school classes.Teachers have very important job.They are responsible for sharping student mind. They have an opportunity to attract students everyday. In Sri Lanka a teacher works 8 periods for a day in school. A teacher has a high digree offer autonomy in a class.There are not only advantages but also many disadvantages in teaching.

    Teaching is known as a noble profession.Teachers are respected by everyone.It is very good advantage in teaching.Teachers can spend their time with their family members more than other professions in the world.And a teacher can enjoy long school vacations in August and December too. There are also many disadvantages in teaching. In Sri Lanka a salary of a teacher is not satisfied.Sometimes teaching can be an exhausting job physically, mentally and emotionally. And the other thing is some teachers complain about the large work load that they have to complete. Apart from subject matters as a teacher has to cover staff meetings, sports meets, concerts and celebrations.

Reading newspapers is very interesting and it is very important. There are many articles about the world.I news papers as school children we can get to know about the world by reading newspapers.

There are lots of news in sports world, political world and the current incidence in the world. We can get know about them by reading newspapers.It also very useful for our education. As school children we have to know about the world and about the country.We can get many information about them from newspapers.So,I really think that as school children reading think that as school children reading news papers is very important ans interesting too.

The Good Soul

C.W.W.Kannangara was born on october 13,1884 at Randombe in Ambalangoda.First he worked a teacher.After he became a lawyer in 1910.He is founder member of the Ceylon National Congress formed with the aim of obtaining independence for Sri Lanka.He was the minister of Education form 1913 to 1947.He was known as the father of free education of Sri Lanka.

Charlie Chaplin started work at the age of nine. Become famous days actor comedian.He went to the United States and join a famous company at the age of 19.He entered the cinema world in 1913.He became  very  famous among everybody.On 1917 he became on independent producer.He produced silent flims.There are The kid,A women of Paris,The gold rush and the Circus.They were very popular among people.He passed away on 25th December 1977 at the age of 88.

Every people in the world have an ambition.It is very good to have an ambition.But we have to work hard with determination to achieve our ambition in life.I also have an ambition in my future.

After finishing my studies in university I obtain my degree I want to be a dancing teacher. Teaching is not only a very good job but also that is very good social work.However after I get my degree. I will like to teach in rural area school because so many teachers don't try to take rural area schools.So we will do our duty very good manner.

When I am teaching I will do my MA and PHD.Then I can live as a serviceable person in our country. I think my mother and father also will give their help for me. Then I will do my work as I can.When I am teaching I will start tuition classes also. As a tutor I can earn lots of money. Then I will buy a vehicle.After that I will marry a  handsome person and live with him. I will start to make a wonderful family.

There are so many jobs in the world.I really like to be a doctor and serve to the country.That's my favorite job.Doctor is a most important and useful person in the world now a days.Doctors can help peoples kindly.They can cure patients and make them happy.I can get a great self satisfaction from it.So the doctor is a more caring job as I think.

Trees are gift of nature.They are very useful for the people and the animals.They give as many things.Trees give us food,wood,shade and medicine etc.We can't live without trees too.Trees give homes,food,and shade to the animals too.It's gives us oxygen also.Trees are very valuable and useful for us.There is no life in the world  without trees.We have to protect them.

I am living in a city.City life is a very easy and comfortable than a village life.Colombo is a very big city. Life in a big city is not difficult. So many facilities such as electricity,water,roads very easy to get.

Banks,hotels,hospitals,shops,gymnasiums,restaurants, schools,dispensaries and supermarkets are very near. So so it is very easy to get our necessities.But cities are very crowded and their lives are very busy.In my point of view city life is better than a village life.

The Elixir of Life

Undoubtedly what is one of the essential resource on earth. No creature including human beings,animals and plants can live without water. Water is one of the precious gift given by nature. Water is a scare resource and it may replenish  over time or because of overuse.If there is no water on earth there is no life on earth.Water plays a significant role in agriculture. Water agriculture is impossible without water and if there would be no agriculture there would be nothing to eat. Water ensures the water entire growth of plants and trees. Water is used for various domestic uses such as cooking bathing and washing.

                    Water is used in industries such as steel,fertilizer,chemical,cement,paper...etc.Water is an important source of fish.Recreational activities such as swimming,rafting,boating are jus possible because of water.We can live without food some days but we cannot live without water evena day.Water is the most important and essential for our survival.

Sports and games are two essantial ingredients for a healthy life. The dictionary  difines sports "as an individual or group activity involing physical extertion skill".The games are defined as activities contest by set of rules. Engaging a game people become mentaly relax by their busy life.Sports can be seen many forms as football, net ball, cricket, basket ball, and the track and feild events.All these games train us develop our power energy physical movement musels and bones. And the other thing is people learn and train tollarate win and defeat. Similarly games help us to develop several skills.For example there are games like chess, help us to improve our brain power. And the other important thing is games and sports help to develope our team spirit.When we do a team game like basketball, netball, cricket we play neard to win as a team.The team will learn to understand each and everyone in the team better.When they practice it will also help to live in a society with close understanding among our family members, neighbours and friends. And also we learn obey, listen and respect leader and the other members in the team.Thus we can see the value of sports and games to our lives.But the Sports and games become commercialized today.

Interesting Person in My life

 

My favourite person is my grandmother.She is my mother's mother.She lives the very far from Colombo at Kurunegala with grandfather.She is very kind and healthy lady. They lives in a very big house around the garden.
She cleans her house and garden herself daily. She cooks very tasty foods.Also she can make sweets.We visit her house once a month  with my parents.At that time she is waiting for very happily welcome me and family.She collects and arranges lot of things for us.We all love her very much and she loves her grandchildren unconditionally.

Along The Centuries

The earth was created from a ball of dust and gas. Life first began in the sea as a bacterium. Plants appeared next on land,finally humans appeared on earth.Humans began to walk on two legs. They started to use simple stone tools and fire.Humans lived in groups.They built a shelter from large bones of animals. They did not farm but human hanted and gathered food.They started to live in one place longer by using bows and arrows.

They started to make tools and metal.Humans started agriculture and rearing animal.They started to live in villages and in their free time they began to engage in dancing and music after harvesting.

How I Relax My Soul

 

As a University Student we must try to spend our leisure time in a useful and advantage manner. Because we have lots of assignments, lectures and others studies. So we will be able to  manage our time in useful way.

"Leisure" means free time. As I spend nearly 4 hours in university lectures and 2- 5 hours I work on  assignments. After my lectures, I like to spend my time listening to the music and gardening. I think it is very enjoyable. Gardening leads us to a healthy life.I can eat fresh fruits and vegetables and I can share them with others too.lastly at night I read story books and I watch news.This is how I spend my leisure time effectively.

The child population is one of the valuable assets of a country. They are the ones who would take care of the country in future. Therefore it is the responsibility of the adults to see the needs of the children.The first day of October has been proclaimed the Universal Children's Day every year. On this day international attention is focussed on children all over the world.Every child has the right to get love and affection. He may obtain proper nutrition and necessary medicine, obtain knowledge freely, play and have pleasure, he may also receive protection from the society.All the children in our society practically do not enjoy these rights. There have been many instances where the children have been deprived of their rights by adults. These adults are said to have exploited the innocent children to achieve their own objectives.Always the future of a nation depends on how the younger generation is being raised. News of brutal crimes are heard from all over the world. It is partly due to the bad upbringing of children. Children should be protected like flowers. The effect of any damage to their tender soul will be very harmful.All these show how important is the child population of a country for its survival and progress.

The Sacred Foot

 

There are so many important and Sacred places in Sri Lanka. Out of them Sripada is one of the most famous and sacred places in Sri Lanka. It is in the Ratnapura District. It is a Sacred and a religious place among people in Sri Lanka and also among tourists in all the world, acording to the History of Lankadeepa, in the 3rd visit of Lord budda to Sri Lanka with the invitation of God Saman, Lord Budda placed foot print in top of the mountain.And for the Christians, this is the footprint of Saint Thomas the apostle, who introduced Christianity in that land. It has already been declared World Heritage by the UNESCO. This mountain is about 7360 feet high. De votees go on pilgrimages to this Sacred mountain December to May. More than hundred thousand devotees, local and foriegn tourists visits sripada during this period.

Treats on Coastal Belt

 

Sea erosion has today become one of the grave problems for Sri Lanka. Our country is an island surrounded by the Indian Ocean. There are many miles of corals near the coast line in the sea. Although, coral reefs are beautiful, they are very dangerous because, many verieties of poisonous creatures live in and around the coral reefs. Local as well as foreign tourists come to the South Hikkaduwa which is famous for coral reefs. These coral reefs are near the coast line and protect beaches from pounding waves. Where there are reefs beaches are safe. Corals help protect natural vegetations and coconut plantation in the beach. When there are no reefs and beaches are narrow the land is in danger. Here natural vegetation and plantation are destroyed.In certain places not only houses but also whole villages are completely destroyed. So we must protect our beautiful beaches and coral reefs. However, fishermen and tourists who come from other countries break these nice corals. They want to sell or to take their home these coral reefs. Shore dwellers who are careless, break corals and make lime and cement. As a result, coral reefs are getting destroyed gradually. It helps stop sea erosion and washing away beaches and lands. In certain places such as Hikkaduwa and Beruwela sea erosion is very serious today. The government spends a lot of money to protect the beaches. If breaking of reefs is not stopped soon it will lead to many serious problems. Therefore, it is our duty to protect the corals and reefs.

The Sport of Gentlemen

 

My favourite sport is cricket. Today it is the most popular game in Sri Lanka. It is also the most loved sport in the West. I like cricket due to many reasons. When we play cricket we spend a lot of time in the open air. This is extremely good for our health. We get a lot of exercises when we play cricket. We need exercise for the healthy growth of the body.

Sports are useful in various ways. Through sports we learn to accept both victory and defeat alike. This makes us responsible citizens. Cricket also teaches us many good moral values. Cricket keeps the young ones away from loitering; drug taking and watching bad films. This helps to build a good society.

The Sacred Pageant

Among all the traditional pageants held in Sri Lanka, the Kandy Perahera is the most splendid and famous. It is called the Esala Perahera, because it is held in the month of Esala, which is the festival period of Gods. The pageant is a combination of the Dalada perahera which is held in honour of the Buddha's sacred Tooth Relic and the procession in honour of the gods. It was begun in the second century. It has lasted through eighteen centuries. However, during times of foreign domination and severe drought this Perahera was interrupted. The Dalada Perahera was originaly held in Anuradhapura, where the Tooth Relic was first kept. It wasduring the time of king Kirthi Sri Rajasinghe this Perahera was started in Kandy and held together with the procession of Gods.The Esala Perahera of the Gods, begins at the auspicious hour. In the first five days, it is held in the premises of the four devalas dedicated to the three Gods Natha, Vishnu and Kataragama and the Goddess Pattini. The next five days it joins the Dalada Perahera and goes through the streets of Kandy. During the last four days the Perahera is very grand and it is called the Randoli Perahera. 

            The Randoli Perahera is led by the Dalada Precession. The majestic elephant carries the sacred Tooth Relic on its back. The custodian of the Tooth Relic the Diyawadana Nilame walks in the procession in the midst of dancers, drummers and torch-bearers.This is followed by the processions of the four devales. The first is that of God Vishnu, who is considered as the protector of Buddhism in sri Lanka. Next comes the procession, of God Katharagama of unlike the Gods Vishnu and Natha, God Kataragama is said to be a God on earth and rules the southern part of the country. The last procession is in honour of Goddess Pattini. 

             This grand pageant ends with the day Perahera which moves down to the Mahaveli river where a ceremony is performed. A pot is filled with water and brought back to the devale where it is kept untill the following year. The Kandy Esala Perahera is an anual event witnessed by tens of thousands of people including foreign tourists.
